Eat It Up & Leave No Crumbs

This is my favourite rallying cry of the moment: ‘Eat it Up and Leave No Crumbs!’

One of the benefits of having teenage kids is that you get to hear these sayings and this one I particularly love.

So, ‘OMG, she ate it up and left no crumbs’ or ‘no crumbs left’ is a way of appreciating and applauding that someone did an amazing job.

High praise indeed.

This phrase really resonates with me, partly because I’m a great, big greedy guts and love my food so in a literal sense I really enjoy my food and rarely leave anything on the plate. BUT also in a metaphorical sense I love it for the energy, passion and gusto, triumph and sheer enjoyment those words connote.

Just think about it - when you love something, have passion, an appetite and energy for something, you ‘eat it up’.

When you’ve done your very best, given all out, couldn’t have done better, you ‘leave no crumbs’.

It’s a state of mind, an intention.

If you looked at life through the lens of ‘I’m gonna eat it up and leave no crumbs’ what would that look like?

If you approached a job interview, a big presentation, a new client - what would it look like if you could say of the meeting ‘I ate it up and left no crumbs’?

Fun to think about, isn’t?

So my challenge to you is enjoy yourselves like you would devour your favourite meal. The next big thing coming your way, forget the nerves, forget the self-doubt and decide, ‘I’m gonna eat this up and leave no crumbs’.

I want to see spotless plates. No crumbs left.

Be Fearlessly You!
